“Dear Silence,
I feared you most
when you lived inside me,
choking every word
before it left my mouth.
You haunted like the dark,
devouring,
a void my mind
rushed to fill
with echoes of self-hate.
…
For in you,
I lit the path to freedom
and found the song
that waited
in the dark.”
